Finally! The majority of mask requirements and safe zone restrictions have been lifted! But does this mean that we should immediately disregard everything we’ve been doing for the past two years and dive back into our unhealthy habits? The answer is no.
When going out in public amongst strangers or even using public transportation, wearing a mask can help prevent the spread of infectious viruses and even the flu. This is because if an infected person coughs, sneezes or even talks, their droplets can be easily transmitted to those in close proximity to them. Droplets can even linger in the air and can be inhaled by persons, propelling the spread of the virus.
Wash your hands! We know, you’ve heard this a million times, but, we can’t stress how important it is enough. Before food preparation, after using restrooms, after leaving a public space, before touching your face etc. Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water is one of the safest ways to prevent community spread.
Cleaning and disinfecting surface areas is also another way in which you can keep your communities safe. Areas like these include car-door handles and seats, stop-sign buttons, ATM machines, gas pump handles and everywhere else that multiple persons touch on a daily basis.
We want you to be safe and healthy! So take the necessary precautions to ensure that you don’t fall victim to germs and bacteria.
